Reverend Frezza Ramadan is an Internally Displaced Person from Lutaya residential area. He relocated to Errap during the conflicts for safety. While residing in Errap, attaining water was an ongoing issue for the community. The water well was not functioning, and the people walked 2km to another borehole that was always overcrowded. With so many people accessing water at the same water point, it took all day to walk and wait to fill a jerrycan full of clean water. Because of the massive change in security, people are returning voluntarily from the camps while IDPs are occupying their original land. As of now, the owners of the home that Frezza is currently occupying have not returned. He knows he will need to move soon as their return is likely, but he is now reaping the benefits of the restored well in the community. Frezza is voluntarily helping the water committee as he feels it is a way to give back to the community who graciously welcomed him when he needed a temporary residence. He hopes that when he returns to Lutaya that there will be peace and clean water. For now, he does not have the funds to rebuild his home and his crops. But with nearby access to clean water in Errap, he will now have the time to work towards his plans to return.
